Superintendent's Message

Dear North Hanover Township Parents, Students and Community:

As you visit the pages on our website, I hope that one theme will become evident to you: this is a place where learning is valued, and where adults make a commitment to working hard and collaborating with each other to provide the best possible experience for students. Our staff here functions as a professional learning community, and as such continuously asks and answers four guiding questions:

  1. What do we want students to know and be able to do?
  2. How will we know when they know it?
  3. How will we intervene and support those who are having difficulty with essential skills?
  4. How will we extend and enrich learning to provide challenges for those who already have mastered essential skills?

Our mission, vision, values and commitments reflect this learning community framework and describe who we are as a district. We consider ourselves very fortunate and honored to serve both our local community and our military community. Our staff has deep roots in both places. Some were born and raised in the North Hanover area, and are very involved in local community service, and some were service members, are the spouses of service members or have parents or children in the armed forces. We understand the special challenges that military children and families face, and we are committed to providing experiences and supports in district, and leadership and advocacy outside of district to ensure that their needs are well served.

We have high standards for learning for all children, and we pride ourselves on doing whatever it takes to help each and every child achieve at high levels. Please feel free to reach out to any one of our staff members for assistance at any time. We sincerely value the opportunity to work with you to help our children be their very best!

Sincerely,

Helen Payne
Superintendent
